Marie-Ange Symmonds is a Senior Associate at Fosters having joined our legal team in April 2020 and currently enjoys a mixed portfolio of corporate and commercial law, debt collection, litigation, and property law.
Marie-Ange was born in Barbados and did her first degree in Global Development Studies at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. She further went on to study Law in London, United Kingdom, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Middle Temple.
Marie-Ange continued her legal training at the Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad and Tobago and in-service training at J.D Sellier & Co.
Marie-Ange is passionate about advocacy, having participated in numerous mooting competitions and won the Queen Mary Plea in Mitigation competition in 2018. She also worked at the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre and spent six weeks working at an NGO in Kigali, Rwanda, where she was involved in developing policies to address family planning and gender-based violence.
Marie-Ange is community oriented and passionate about international development issues and their effect on small island developing states. In her spare time, Marie-Ange enjoys playing tennis and staying active.
