Maquia J. Foster

Maquia joined FOSTERS in September 2025 and has already successfully worked on complex corporate and commercial matters, including injunction applications and corporate disputes.

She graduated from the University of Kent with her LLB in July 2024 and completed the Bar Professional Training Course in May 2025, at the University of Law, London,  achieving an overall Distinction. Maquia was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a member of Lincoln’s Inn on 7 October 2025 and to the Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court on 21 November 2025.

During her time at the University of Kent, Maquia was selected as a Law Student Ambassador, a role offered to only 5% of applicants. During this role, she represented the university at official events and strengthened her advocacy and interpersonal skills. She also served as an elected Class Representative during her Bar Professional Training Course. As her Class’s Representative, Maquia advocated for her peers, addressed concerns, and worked collaboratively with the administration to implement practical solutions. This experience sharpened her ability to negotiate, communicate effectively, and lead under pressure.

In addition, Maquia actively participated in mooting and other advocacy competitions during her Bar Professional Training Course, further refining her oral advocacy, legal analysis, and courtroom presentation skills.

Beyond academics, Maquia has consistently demonstrated leadership and community engagement, serving on boards and committees and contributing to non-profit initiatives. These roles reflect her commitment to service, representation, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.

Maquia is deeply passionate about justice and advocacy, with a strong commitment to standing up for what is right. Her background as an athlete has instilled in her discipline, resilience, and determination. Maquia applies these qualities to every legal challenge; ensuring that her clients’ interests are protected and advanced effectively.
