Senior Associate

Rochelle R. John-Charles is a Senior Associate having joined our legal Team in February 2026.  Rochelle has over a decade of experience in constitutional, civil, and appellate litigation. A former Crown Counsel for the Government of Saint Lucia and Judicial Research Assistant at the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal, Rochelle has made representations before all levels of Court, including the International Court of Justice.

Rochelle holds a Master’s Degree in Legislative Drafting (Distinction) and is an Honour Roll graduate of the Hugh Wooding Law School.  She has completed advanced training in international law, constitutional law, cyber operations, sanctions regimes, maritime boundary law, environmental governance, and treaty implementation through the United Nations and regional institutions.

Rochelle has served on numerous national committees and boards, including the Central Public Procurement Board (2nd Vice President), the Public Health Board and has represented Saint Lucia in regional and international legal forums.  She has advised on treaty implementation at the national level including the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement) and has contributed to legal and policy development in areas intersecting with human rights, climate change and ocean governance.  

Rochelle has served as instructing counsel in a number of complex constitutional proceedings including a constitutional matter culminating in the successful defence of the constitutional amendment replacing the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council with the Caribbean Court of Justice as Saint Lucia’s final appellate court. Her work has consistently engaged intricate constitutional and administrative issues, human rights litigation and matters at the intersection of governance, public accountability and institutional reform.

Outside of her professional commitments, Rochelle enjoys spending time with her family and reconnecting with nature.  An avid reader and lifelong learner, she approaches each matter with intellectual curiosity, integrity and unwavering dedication to her clients.
